Five simple ways to create effective employee videos

Let your people help strengthen your employer brand
Employee-created video content is both a popular and credible way to utilise your most valuable asset: your people. But how do you easily create videos that truly engage candidates?
Here are five formats that are simple to produce yet highly effective.
01. A day on the job
Show candidates what an ordinary day at your company looks like. Ask an employee to film short clips from their daily work—tasks, coffee breaks, and meetings—and edit them together into a short, engaging video. It’s that simple.
02. Rapid fire questions
Ask an employee a couple short, straightforward questions about what it’s like to work with you. The questions can be fun, lighthearted, or even more reflective. The main thing is that the answers feel spontaneous and genuine.
03. Social media takeover
Let an employee take over your company’s social channels for a day. They can share quick clips, selfies, and stories from their everyday work life. This provides an authentic glimpse into your culture.
04. “My role in 60 seconds”
Ask an employee to briefly describe their role and share one exciting task or project. A minute is plenty. Short, focused stories are both engaging and easy to watch.
05. Team talk
Record a short, relaxed conversation between colleagues about what they enjoy about working at your company and what they appreciate most. This format highlights team spirit and gives candidates a real sense of your workplace atmosphere.
Why it works
✅ Gives a authentic, behind-the-scenes look at your company.
✅ Makes it easy for employees to contribute spontaneous, authentic content.
✅ Engages both current team members and future candidates.
