Oddwork’s Insights into the Future

We caught up with Daniella Ravan, CEO of Oddwork, to get her take on the current job market and what lies ahead.

What are candidates looking for in a potential employer these days?

According to Oddwork’s candidate survey, there are three key factors candidates are placing the most importance on. They want workplaces that offer clear and direct communication, a friendly and comfortable work environment, and opportunities for growth and challenges.

So, how should employers step up to attract the right talent in the coming years?

Flexibility is still a major player, especially given the rise of hybrid work over the past few years. Employers need to be tuned in to what candidates are after. Even in a market where more people are actively job hunting, those highly sought-after candidates, and skills, often referred to as the “Top talent,” will still expect a lot from potential employers.

What advice would you give to job seekers looking to switch paths in these uncertain times?

When considering a potential employer, it’s crucial to look closely at what they’re all about. While the industry might matter, it’s not the only thing to consider. Keep an eye out for companies that may have taken on excessive costs during rapid growth – those are the ones with the biggest red flags. However, companies actively seeking new hires in these times are often the ones managing to thrive despite the ongoing challenges.
