Partner case: Wint and Oddwork
With its unique service, Wint revolutionised how we look at financial administration. For further success, it chose to start an employer branding partnership with Oddwork.
The tech company Wint has made running a business easier since 2011. It has digitalised everyday administration, and whether it is invoicing, expenses, VAT payments or monthly closing, the system handles the process fully automatically.
Josefine Saraste is Head of HR at Wint and has worked there since 2014. During those years the company has grown quickly and strongly, leading to many new hires. During one particularly hectic quarter, Wint made as many as 32 new hires. This created two challenges:
– On the one hand, I started to see a need to structure ourselves better internally. To refine and clarify what we stand for, says Josefine. I also wanted to solve the recruitment challenge from the right end. Instead of spending all our time and money on expensive job ads, I wanted to make us more attractive as an employer. Like: “This is us, this is what you get if you start working with us!”

A talent market in constant change
Today’s talent market is constantly changing. To retain employees while attracting the right talent, you need to work with your employer brand, which Josefine and Wint decided to do.
– Many people claim that company culture is in the walls, she says. I do not believe that. Company culture is something you actively create together, for example by working with your employer brand.
At Wint’s annual conference in Smögen in 2017, they started their partnership with Oddwork. In the autumn, the work continued with three workshops that Oddwork held with a reference group Josefine had selected.
– The sessions focused on different areas related to our employer brand. The last workshop was this spring and was about how the method we developed should be implemented in the business. Along the way, Josefine noticed a change among the employees.
– Oddwork is very good at creating engagement, and everyone has felt inspired and involved. I also noticed that many in the reference group started communicating our brand on their social media accounts. Before, people might share an ad for a vacancy and write “Come work with me”, which is also good, but now many spend time writing about why they work at Wint and what makes our company special. To me, that is a sign that they really enjoy it, and that our work with company culture is heading in the right direction.

Josefine sums up the partnership with Oddwork:
– It has been incredibly rewarding, and we have had an extremely good introduction to this type of work. If you see employer branding as a one-off effort you look at once a year, you are on the wrong track. The work needs to be done continuously, and through Oddwork we have the tools to work with this in the long term. I am really grateful for the format and structure we have developed.
